David Heald has been photographing art, architecture and the natural landscape for over twenty five years. His work has been exhibited widely and appeared in numerous books and periodicals. He is represented in many private and public collections, including the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris. Heald is presently Chief Photographer for the Guggenheim Museum in New York. His photographs of the Cistercian abbeys of France were published in 2000 in the highly acclaimed book Architecture of Silence, by Harry N. Abrams, NY. The book was chosen as one of the thirteen best architecture books of the year 2000 by the New York Times Book Review and was reprinted in 2002. An exhibition of 40 original prints from this body of work, organized by Exhibitions International and supported by grants from the Graham Foundation, The Florence Gould Foundation and the Grand Marnier Foundation is currently touring museums in North America. |
